So tonight we're gonna party like it's 1979...

Just like when the American Embassy in Tehran was stormed in 1979, the British Embassy there is now feeling the wrath of crazed Iranian protesters who hate all things Western and are using the passing of an Iranian bill to reduce diplomatic ties with Britain as an excuse to wreak all kinds of havoc and mayhem. And now I'm getting word that hostages have been taken. Here's a story link:

Iranian protesters seize 6 British embassy staff

Apparently we haven't learned the lessons of the 1979 situation. Why any Western country still maintains an embassy there is baffling. Iran is by no means docile and should be taken seriously. The documentary "Iranium" should be required viewing. Here's a trailer:

Death At A Discount! Limited Time Only!

No matter what side of the abortion issue you're on, you can't deny that the coupon pictured below treats the procedure with a cavalier attitude.

Aside from the gall to put a abortion on the same level as getting a discount on an oil change or teeth whitening via coupons, this clinic restricts its use to Sundays only.

REALLY???

Why not Monday? Tuesday? Usually some businesses offer specials and coupons to stimulate business on traditionally slow days like Monday or Tuesday.

But, no, the clinic restricts it specifically to Sunday, perhaps to rub it in the face of pro-life advocates, the majority of whom are regular church attendees. Or maybe the owner of this clinic assumes that pro-lifers will be busy on Sundays with church activities so any protests in front of their clinic will be minimal at best.

In any event, it clearly shows poor taste to even offer a coupon or special on something like this! Obviously abortion is big business! But I guess business is so bad at this clinic that they have to resort to issuing coupons. The only thing that could be possible be worse is if they issue some kind of frequent user's card that gets punched on every visit until the user gets enough punches to get a free abortion.

As if life couldn't be cheapened any further...

So if a dog can't be housebroken...

...isn't it time to get rid of it?

No, this post isn't about pet ownership; it's about the occupiers of Wall Street and even those elsewhere around the US and the world.

I have no problem with the right of these unwashed masses to protest, but after 3 weeks and beyond, they are becoming quite the nuisance. Aside from the fact that many at Occupy Wall Street and other protest sites haven't a clue as to why they're there (see the videos below if you don't believe me), they are also engaging in behavior that clearly undermines their movement and impedes any progress for them to be taken seriously. Sorry, but activities like defecating on sidewalks (and even police cars!), banging drums, partaking in illegal drug use, and having sex in plain view of other park squatters are eventually going to raise the ire of the mayor on down to rank-and-file police officers to the point of shouting "enough is enough!"

And now the word is out that theft is occurring amongst the smelly squatters. Imagine that; the same people screaming about wealth redistribution are having their own possessions redistributed, including a $5500 Mac. How ironic is that?

Eventually the authorities are going to put out the call to clear Zuccotti Park and the surrounding area, if nothing else, for safety and health reasons. After over three weeks, it cannot be very sanitary around that area, what with all the trash, bodily waste, and lack of personal hygiene. It's only a matter of time before rats and other vermin overtake the area if they haven't started doing so already. And then comes the possibility of disease breaking out. Of course if protestors start getting sick they'll blame that on Wall Street, too.

The dog is crapping on the floor and it won't stop; time to get rid of it!

Not only does it pee and poop wherever it pleases; it's also destructive as you see above!

Peace~

Just because they're poor doesn't give them the right to be scumbags!

I've been keeping an eye on the riots that have erupted in London. It looks like that the violence and looting could spread to other parts of England, perhaps even reaching into Wales and Scotland.

I've also been observing the Philadelphia flash mob attacks as well as those that occurred at the Wisconsin State Fair. Here's news links to those for those of you who haven't heard about them as it seems that the national media has provided little coverage, especially about what went on in Wisconsin:

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/08/06/hundreds-rampage-through-neighborhoods-surrounding-wisconsin-state-fair/

http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2011/08/09/Philadelphia-targets-youth-flash-mob-attacks/UPI-97931312896053/

So now we're hearing of the reasons excuses for the riots, the attacks, and the looting:

"Oh, they're disenfranchised!"

"They have no money or a job!"

"The white man is keeping them down!"

"They can't make it without more help from the government!"

Thousands of excuses can be made for such behavior, but none can cover the fact that said behavior is just plain wrong! Unfortunately the majority of black youths are raised in fatherless homes with little to no moral guidance from whoever the authority figure is in the home (mother, grandmother, aunt, etc.) thus we now have a generation of young hoodlums unleashed onto the world! Bottom line, it begins at home, and no amount of excuses or blame will negate that! So until we see a change in this "the-world-owes-me" mentality to something more of a "can-do" attitude, we will see more flareups like the mayhem we've seen over the past week!

Peace (more than ever!)!

Why not put the blame where it belongs...on the perpetrator!!!

It's pretty much what I expected from the media; instead of putting the blame for last week's attacks in Norway squarely on Anders Behring Breivik, the majority of reports are targeting those who supposedly influenced Breivik. Many even refer to Breivik's alleged Christian extremism, even though he states in his "manifesto" that he's not all that religious nor was he affiliated with any church.

But back to the blame game! The media has singled out certain conservative bloggers critical of radical Islam like Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, even going so far as to suggest that such bloggers incite people like Breivik to violence. Robert Spencer proves how ludicrous such an accusation is in this NBC news clip:

A similar situation happened six months ago when the media was falling over themselves trying to assert blame for the shooting at the Gabrielle Giffords gathering in Arizona on Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin, both, I'm sure, were thousands of miles away from the shooting site when it occurred. Neither Limbaugh nor Palin pulled the trigger; JARED LOUGHNER PULLED THE TRIGGER!

And so it goes with Anders Behring Breivik; HE set off the car bomb in Oslo and HE shot those people at that camp. The perpetrator's name is NOT Robert Spencer, NOT Pamela Geller, NOT Sarah Palin, NOT even Mickey Mouse; try Anders Behring Breivik!!!

Furthermore, it does a disservice to the victims of a tragedy like this when supposed journalists try to be armchair psychologists and focus primarily on the background and influences of the perpetrator. How about directing some attention to the victims and their families; they're more than just statistics, you know...

Peace!

The LAST thing she needs is to bring another lamb to the slaughter!

I found this post on Facebook today on the paged entitled RIP Jessica Mokdad:

  • Wendy Ann Alfetlawi
i love you jess with all my heart! i really try to be strong, but when i see ur picture it just kills me inside and i cant help but to cry! no child will ever take your place, but i wish GOD willing to remarry and have a healthy baby! it just may help some of this pain i'm feeling! you are my best friend, babes!
Now this really bothered me. I have a feeling I'm going to get flamed for even posting the comment, but whatever!

I'm not going to go into what could have been; that she could have taken a more active role in protecting Jessica. Perhaps Jessica would not have become another statistic like Aqsa Parvez, Noor Almaleki, and the Said sisters; no, Wendy played the role of dutiful wife, perhaps out of fear of her madman husband, and now her daughter is dead!

It's been only a few months since Jessica was brutally gunned down by her stepfather, and now Wendy is talking about remarrying and having another baby??? REALLY???

I know of mothers who would fight tooth and nail to protect their children! This woman chalks up her husband's behavior to "strict parenting"! Now, after Jessica gets a bullet through the head, she's doing a 180 degree turn??? Not to sound facetious, but that's another example of closing the barn door after the horse gets out!

Is Wendy really mourning the loss of her daughter or is she more concerned over whatever fate awaits her husband in the courts? After watching the video below, you decide!

Peace (and may Jessica, Aqsa, Noor, Amina, Sarah, and all the other victims of so-called "honor" killings rest in peace and may they all receive justice!)!

You think Code Pink has infiltrated this school district?

Two graduating high school seniors in Pennsylvania were told by a teacher (a Code Pinker, perhaps?) to remove their U.S. Army sashes shortly before commencement ceremonies. Instead, they chose to sit in the audience and watch their fellow seniors take the walk. A very classy move on their part, but it shouldn't have taken place. Here's a brief interview with Jordan Marker, one of the seniors:

Thanks to the Infidel Bloggers Alliance for the heads-up! You can read more about it at their link below and utilize the contact information provided of the principal and the district superintendent (but if you do contact either or both, remember to be polite and cordial, please!).

So are they also promoting a Kristalnacht-like atmosphere?

And where will the concentration camps be built?

Seriously, there's a push against Israel similar to what Nazi brownshirts were doing to German Jews in the early 1930s as Hitler and his thugs rose to power.

Apparently the lessons that history can teach us are being ignored. Like the non-aggression pacts that nations like Austria and Denmark signed with Nazi Germany, acts of appeasement to the Islamic/Palestinian community are being demonstrated by local governments in the UK in the form of bans and boycotts of all things Israeli/Jewish. Somehow it's become (in some circles) an acceptable form of anti-Semitism. Click the link to read more.

Infidel Bloggers Alliance: Scottish municipality bans Israeli books

I'm not suggesting that Israel is infallible (no nation is, admit it!), but the fools pushing for such bans and boycotts look the other way when it comes to the laundry list of human rights abuses that are all-too-commonplace in lands where Islamic sharia law is practiced. Then again, their actions come mostly from fear; I suppose I wouldn't want a crazed lunatic with scimitar in hand coming at me screeching "allahu ackbar!"

And we're supposed to be "tolerant" of these a-holes???

Of course we'll hear from supposed "moderate" Muslims (and some useful idiots on the left) the usual taquiyya that Islam is a "religion of peace" yet we continually hear and see evidence to the contrary. It's really the only religion on Earth that promotes hatred, violence, and misogyny. So here we go with another example of how "peaceful" Islam is.

Gary Smith, a religious education teacher at an all-girls school in London, was beaten nearly to death by a gang of Islamic thugs after a niece of one of the thugs mentioned that her teacher was discussing Islam in class as per the national curriculum requiring religious educations teachers to cover the "six major religions", Islam obviously being one of them (although I wouldn't object if it was dropped from the curriculum). So the thug came to the conclusion that Mr. Smith was "mocking Islam" and called up three of his buddies to plan an ambush (not exactly a fair fight, to be sure). They beat this guy, fracturing his skull and shattering his jaw, leaving him for dead as they praised their barbaric moon god. Mug shots? Here you go:

You can read more about it HERE

All their profiles mentioned that they each lived in a "council flat". I'm not all that familiar with that term, but I'm assuming that it's similar to a US housing project. No secret, really, that many a Muslim living in the West live off the public dole even on a minimal scale; perhaps a form of economic jihad to cripple and eventually collapse government infrastructures? Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Then again, some Islamic leaders have gone on record as saying that they wouldn't mind seeing Western democracies replaced with Islamic sharia law. Yeah, we all know how most countries under sharia are thriving (picture me rolling my eyes here). If Saudi Arabia and a few others in the Middle East didn't have oil fields, they'd be in the same boat as their third-world brethren. But I'm digressing here.

Anyway, back to our gang of thugs. Nice to see that they'll all be doing some time, though I think their sentences for the most part are rather light, considering that the attack was pre-meditated. Mr. Smith now has to spend the rest of his days dealing with both physical and emotional scars; how many more Gary Smiths do we have to have until we realize that Islam is not simply "another religion" but an ideology promoting fear, violence, hatred, misogyny, and, eventually, world domination. I don't know about you, but I have no desire to wear 7th century Arabic garb and stick my butt in the air 5 times a day!

Peace!

Somebody explain to me why an 8-year-old needs botox!!!

I've never been a fan of parents who insist on living vicariously through their children. From sports dads to pageant moms, I'll never understand their obsession to mold their children to become the stars they never could become, like a phoenix rising from the ashes of their own broken dreams.

Now that I got that off my chest, here's a video that's sure to disgust more than a few of you:

Why does an 8-year-old need botox? Sorry, but botox is for aging socialites desperately trying to recapture what they used to look like in their 20s. You can argue that last point all you want, fine, but it's certainly not for pre-pubescent pageant girls already inundated on a continuous basis with the supposed importance of looks. I also find it curious that this "mother" refuses to name the source of her daughter's botox injections yet insists that it's all legal. Legality aside, I would certainly question the ethics of any medical professional who would give access to botox to an 8-year-old, even with parental insistence...er, I mean, consent.

This is most definitely going beyond the realm of spray tans (for that Oompa-Loompa look!) and big hair. I understand it's becoming a trend. You know, monkey see, monkey do!

Peace!

It's time to stand up and shout "NO MORE!!!"

So now we have news of another "honor" killing here in the states. Jessica Mokdad fled her home in Minnesota with the aid of friends to a Detroit suburb in Michigan, only to be tracked down and sh0t in cold blood by her stepfather. Here's a news clip:

How long is this going to continue? Sure, this practice is commonplace in Islamic-majority countries and that's bad enough, but when it's brought to the West by Muslim immigrants, we cannot simply turn a blind eye to this for fear of angering Muslim communities. I get the feeling that's precisely why you don't hear much from human rights organizations like Amnesty International or feminist groups like NOW. Why so silent? Perhaps other agendas to focus on? Or maybe it's because they fear becoming targets of violence.

All I know is that if we continue to turn the other way, nothing is going to change. Even silence is sanction!

Peace (and may Jessica rest in hers...)!

They've only treated a symptom...the disease goes merrily along...

If you haven't heard already, global terrorist #1 and 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden met his end. Won't he be surprised at what awaits him in the afterlife (HINT: it's not going to be 72 black-eyed virgins!)?

So what now? Are the jihadist threats to the West going to stop? Not by a long shot! You know there's going to be a power grab by a bunch of bin Laden wannabees, and you can bet the body count will increase over that alone. And, of course, the hornet's nest gets stirred up once again with demands of retaliation by admirers of bin Laden and the rank-and-file of al-Qaida. We in the West are by no means safe, especially with Islamic terrorists walking among us thanks to lax immigration policies and Islamo-pandering!

But for the moment, people in the US are jubilant over the news:

I would have preferred to have seen bin Laden taken captive to stand trial for his crimes, but I get the feeling that most terrorists would rather resist than be captured. He and his band of thugs likely engaged the Navy SEALS in a firefight at the Islamabad mansion (really? a mansion?) thus dying just as he had lived: violently!

Now we wait for reaction from the Islamic world. My guess is that it's not going to be pretty!

Until next time,

Peace!

She better start packing some heat!

Well, the hornet's nest is getting stirred once again! No, the supposed culprit isn't a cartoonist drawing the Pedophile Mohammed or a preacher burning the Koran.

This time it's a Muslim woman posing nude in the German edition of Playboy. The video I provided features only a few photos from the shoot tastefully done with no naughty bits revealed (relief for some, disappointment for others, I know).

Now Playboy is not something I necessarily condone. That being said, I also leave it up to the woman hoping to be the next centerfold to make that decision. Unfortunately, there are those out there who embrace an ideology vehemently opposed to my worldview, so much so that the more looney ones want to stick a knife through her heart.

I can certainly understand why Sila Sahin did what she did; she was raised in a culture oppressive to women and that forces them to cover themselves so as not to arouse the men in their community (yeah, self-control is not something encouraged with this bunch).

But I am concerned about her safety and well-being. I have heard the horror stories about young Muslim women becoming victims of "honor" killings, and the reasons vary, like the teenage girl who refused to wear the headscarf, the young woman who refused an arranged marriage, or the teenage sisters gunned down by their father because he believed they were becoming too "Westernized". I encourage her to seek refuge someplace safe away from large Muslim communities. She is quite recognizable now and would be an easy target for some knife-wielding maniac screaming "allahu ackbar!"

At this point, I can only hope and pray that she doesn't become another statistic!

Peace!

Yeah, we know how deadly those wiffle balls can be...

I swear, America seems to have the most politicians who are nothing more than meddling busybodies!!!

With all the talk about getting kids away from video games and TV and go outside to play, now we have morons in the New York state legislature trying to regulate outdoor fun! Here's a link:

Watch out for them wiffle balls!

What do they expect kids to do at summer camp, knit and crochet? Oh, wait, they can't do that, either, because those knitting needles are deadly, too!

Let the kids have fun and the wet blankets be thrown back into the wash!

Well done, Sarah Jane Smith, well done...

I got word last night that Elisabeth Sladen, the British actress best known for her role as Sarah Jane Smith at various points in the Doctor Who series, had passed away yesterday after a bout with cancer. Came as quite a shock as I didn't even know she had been ill.

I had first seen her on the small screen back in the early 80s when the local PBS station (WYES out of New Orleans) ran episodes of Doctor Who late on Saturday nights. I had heard of this science fiction show from Britain via word of mouth from a small but rather vocal fan base springing up in America. So I was directed to the local TV listings of when it would be regularly shown. A little surprised at first; I first laid eyes on this tall, bulgy-eyed guy with a mane of dark, curly hair and a rainbow-colored scarf running though a badly-constructed set whilst being chased by what looked like pepper shakers on wheels (I found out later these were called "Daleks"). I did find one character interesting; this woman who traveled with him, and her name was Sarah Jane. I come to find out that she had a fan following all her own; not hard to see why.

In recent years, she surfaced in a new incarnation of Doctor Who (which hadn't been in production, save a horrid American-produced telefilm in 1996, for 16 years). Fortunately, with the cable channel BBC America, fans in America don't have to wait 5+ years for a new Doctor episode like in the old days with PBS. But I'm digressing a bit here. Anyway, the fans must have wanted more, so a spinoff series, The Sarah Jane Adventures, soon debuted. Obviously aimed at the younger set, it possessed enough of the excitement and spirit of Doctor Who so that older fans also tuned in.

But alas, the adventures of Elisabeth and Sarah Jane come to a somber end. She will truly be missed...

Taking a page from Orwell

Orwell's 1984 continues to inspire some people over 60 years after it was first published...and not for the better! The author presents this work as a warning of how any institution can change into something more dystopian if we allow it. Some prefer to embrace such a change rather than shun it!

Case in point: Little Village Academy, a public school on the west side of Chicago.

The story? Chicago school bans some lunches brought from home.

The principal of this school has taken it upon herself to decide that the slop served at her school (I don't know this for certain; I'm assuming this from some of the quotes in the article regarding the quality of the food) is mandatory and any lunch brought from home is unacceptable. What business is it of hers what a student eats, anyway?

We've all heard the jokes (and made a few, I admit) over the years regarding school cafeteria food. But now the joke is on the students of this particular school; they eat whatever is dished out day after day and like it, or go without!

Both of my nieces are very fussy eaters and rarely buy the lunch at school and instead prepare their own bag lunch every school morning. Both would throw fits if they were suddenly prohibited from bringing their own lunch! I can only imagine what kind of fuss is being raised among students and parents. But what scares me is that there are some parents who have no problem with the principal's policy.

Again, I stress my view as I have in previous posts is that complacency is not an option! The only option that should be available is that students be allowed the choice between the pot luck (and maybe Russian roulette?) served in the cafeteria or bring their own lunch, whether it be a baggie of carrot sticks or a box of Twinkies!

But the academy's principal did leave room for an exception; students with food allergies are exempt from her policy.

I think the school will be receiving a lot of doctor's notes in the coming days if the policy is not withdrawn...

Till next time, peace!

And speaking of the man behind the curtain...

the founder of Islam (I refuse to regard him as a "prophet") is the subject of an article in The Brussels Journal by Dutch MP Geert Wilders. I'll simply provide a link below if you'd like to read the story in its entirety:

Time To Unmask Muhammad

I noticed one of the commentators on the Journal link made an absurd excuse for Muhammad's behavior, stating that "Attila the Hun was no less of a brutal butcher than Muhammad." His statement may very well be true, but Attila's influence was finite. You don't see millions of "Attilans" (for lack of a better word) causing mayhem and murder throughout history up until today. On the other hand, you have a similar figure whom millions upon millions of people throughout history strived to emulate and their contemporaries continue to do so. But hey, he founded a religion followed by over a billion people, so it's all good, right? Yet I get the suspicion that a good chunk of that billion plus would leave this cult if doing so wouldn't cost them their lives.

Anyway, that's all I have to say for this post. Please read Mr. Wilders' article and enjoy!

Peace!

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

This famous quote from "The Wizard of Oz" was what I kept thinking as I watched the CNN special "Unwelcome: The Muslims Next Door" this past Sunday evening.

Soledad O'Brien, clearly biased against the Murfreesboro residents opposed to the construction of the mosque, attempted to argue with mosque opponents like Kevin Fisher and Sally Wall. Much to her frustration, I'm sure, both responded with self-assurance and conviction. On the other hand, however, she treated the local imam and other Muslims she spoke to with kid gloves, never questioning possible motives like the need for such a large facility (53, 000 square feet!!!).

Am I saying that the Muslims in that area don't need a place to worship? Of course not! I'm not one to infringe on how or what someone worships, no matter if it goes against my beliefs. However, one can't help but wonder why 53,000 square feet is necessary to accommodate about a couple of hundred Muslim families at the most when about 15,000 square feet would do, even taking into account future births and move-ins. But then there's the "a-ha" moment; more Muslims could be immigrating to Murfreesboro from the Middle East and elsewhere, and so the extra space is necessary for the anticipation of the new arrivals.

Now some of you might be saying "So what? They have every right to come here to live and worship as they please." Well, of course they do. As long as they intend to live here peacefully and observe our laws, I have no problem with that.

So what is the problem? Am I just being paranoid? Racist? Islamophobic?

Yes, the latter two questions like to be tossed about freely as if anyone who has the slightest problem with Islam is any of these things. First of all, Islam is NOT a race! It's not exclusive to dark-skinned Middle Easterners, so that argument is dead on arrival. As for Islamophobia, it's a word created by the media (don't you just love how they create words by adding the suffix "-phobia" to it?). But what is a phobia exactly? It implies an irrational fear of something! But we're not talking about spiders, snakes, heights, clowns, the number 13, etc.; we're instead referring to not just another "Abrahamic" religion but an oppressive ideology that strikes down freedom of any kind, treats women like chattel, insists that man-made laws be replaced with their sharia law, encourages violence against anyone who speaks out against said ideology or its murdering, warmongering, pedophile founder, and demands the death penalty for anyone who renounces this cult! Nothing irrational about that, wouldn't you say?

I got off on a bit of a tangent there. But it illustrates my point of what really bothered me about this CNN piece; a window dressing of sorts was placed on Islam while the opponents in Murfreesboro were portrayed as a bunch of uneducated hicks and rednecks. Sorry, Soledad, but some of us aren't buying what you have to sell. You can throw a pretty, American-born, articulate Muslim girl sans hijab on screen or portray an Islamic imam as cute and cuddly in an attempt to shut down our defenses, but the fact remains that the good citizens of Murfreesboro do not want their town to end up the same as Dearborn, Michigan, which is now virtually a "no-go area" for non-Muslims.

I'll end this here with the first part of the special someone uploaded on Youtube. Embedding has been disabled, so you'll have to click on the link below. There's more parts if you care to see it in its entirety:

The Almighty Church of Narcissism

Yep, that's what the Westboro Baptist Church should change its name to. You know the church; the one whose members hold protests at the funerals of homosexuals and KIAs carrying signs like "God Hates Fags" and "Thank God For Dead Soldiers". They're always making headlines somewhere.

Their antics never cease to sicken me. Just a couple of months ago, they planned a protest at the funeral of 9-year-old Christina Taylor-Green, one of the victims of the Tucson, Arizona shootings. Now why would they choose this little girl's funeral? It's despicable that they protest at ANYONE'S funeral, buy why her? What did she ever do to them? What was her perceived crime? Simple: she was born and raised a Catholic. Yep, that's it! It's worth it for them to show off their silly little signs all the while upsetting Christina's already-grieving family and friends. I don't what kind of god these whackjobs worship, but it's clearly not one of love and compassion. Fortunately, though, their protest was canceled, but only after they were offered air time on a radio station. Whatever god or entity they worship, it has a name: Narcissism!

Now only a day after Elizabeth Taylor passes away, the Westboro kooks announced a protest at her funeral. I'm not sure why; at first I thought it might be because of her 8 marriages. But then I realized it's most likely because of her work with organizations (including her own foundation) that deal with HIV and AIDS. The demented worldview of the Westboro cult (yes, I said "cult" of which the vast majority of members are related in some way) is that AIDS is a homosexual disease, and any0ne who disagrees with that view is, in their words, a "fag enabler".

The media really needs to stop covering these clowns! You know, just ignore them and they'll eventually go away! Don't send out film crews and don't invite any of the Phelps clan to appear on news and talk shows! Probably not going to happen anytime soon. The Westboro nuts are like sideshow freaks at a carnival; you're likely going to be repulsed, but you can't help but watch!

And if you just have to have a glimpse, here you go:

It turns out that both the states of Ohio and Florida are NOT going to file charges against those who aided her after she fled, including the Orlando, FL pastor who took her in.

They could ruin a teacher's career over this???

Before I get into this, why not watch the video first:

A distinguished teaching career of 27 years is now in jeopardy because a Muslim kid was traumatized over the use of the word "ham". And they actually sent the police out to investigate this and have charged him with what is essentially a "hate" crime!

REALLY????

First of all, I believe the kid to be rather disrespectful and impudent for telling his teacher how to instruct his class.

Secondly, I really don't believe Senor Reyes (the teacher) would have suggested the student return to his country of origin, and if he did, so what? The kid wouldn't have to worry about hearing the words "ham", "pig", "pork", etc. in his country of birth. No, it's my belief that this kid and his mother are putting on a show for the Spanish media. Spain obviously has its adherents to political correctness like those here in America who love to brand someone "racist" or "xenophobic" if he or she does not kowtow to a Muslim immigrant's culture or beliefs.

This episode reminds me of the woman in England who was instructed by local police to remove CERAMIC pigs from her kitchen windowsill because they offended her Muslim neighbors, even though said pigs were on HER property. I can only imagine what would have happened if ske kept REAL pigs in her yard!

If these are their beliefs regarding swine, OK, whatever! But a line is crossed whenever said beliefs are imposed on the rest of us by force!

The idea behind immigration is that immigrants, while maintaining some degree of their heritage, culture, and beliefs, would eventually assimilate into their new country. But lately, even in America, we're moving farther away from that ideal. Now we have morons in power who believe it is their duty to fully accommodate every aspect of a new immigrant's life so that assimilation into the "melting pot" does not occur. And while America does not have an official language, it's universally accepted that English is the language of choice and the one most spoken. Hispanic immigrants have been accommodated to the point that they are not motivated to even try and learn some English. But I digress a bit here.

I think the following video, simplistic as it is, sums up the point:

In any event, it would be a travesty if Senor Reyes were to lose his job over a very minute objection of a single student. Pandora's Box will be flung wide open...

Peace!

Are you frickin' kidding me?

What's the matter, Judge Nielsen? Our laws and constitution aren't good enough to help you settle this dispute? Since when is it OK to bring sharia law into this, something clearly not compatible with our constitution or most others in the Western world?

You, sir, need to be removed from the bench immediately!!!

Remember, folks, complacency is not an option!

Peace!

AFLAC had every right to fire Gottfried!

The media really latched on to Gilbert Gottfried's offensive tweets in lame attempts to make jokes about the tragedy in Japan. I'm going to spare you dear readers what was tweeted; if you haven't heard what was tweeted and are curious, there's plenty of sites and blogs out there that cover the story, tweets included.

Now Howard Stern has chimed in, saying it wasn't right for AFLAC to fire him and gave his reasons why. If you're really interested in anything Stern has to say, here's a clip:

A number of news programs have brought in or consulted legal experts regarding Gottfried's firing and the ones I've seen have stated that yes, AFLAC had every right to release him. Like it or not, companies and corporations consider employee conduct both on and off the job. Gottfried represented AFLAC even if he wasn't a full-time contractual employee, AFLAC had to consider the potential harm this controversy could do to their reputation, and so a decision had to be made. So unless the advertising agency AFLAC uses has Gottfried's sound bites on file and AFLAC doesn't mind paying royalties to Gottfried, you won't be hearing their famous duck screeching this anymore:

Peace!

A bit of Gilbert O'Sullivan for ya!

We need a break from all the negative stuff going on in the world from time to time, so here's a treat for you! Here's a number by Gilbert O'Sullivan (no, it's not "Alone Again Naturally"; too depressing!). Enjoy!

I will resume this blog later in the day! Peace!

A brutal, cowardly act!

I was appalled at what I saw on Debbie Schlussel's blog yesterday. An Israeli mother, father, and three of their children (one of them a 3-month-old infant) were brutally stabbed to death as they slept by Palestinian terrorists.

You can click Here to read more. WARNING!!! Most of the photos shown are very graphic and disturbing, so please use discretion, especially if you have little ones peeking over your shoulder.

Thoughts and prayers go out to their family, in particular the surviving daughter who came home to find her family slaughtered.

I have no idea why major media outlets will not cover a story like this....

Peace!

72 Virgins? Really???

How do they buy into this hokum?

Islamic jihadists and suicide bombers are brainwashed to believe that they'll be awarded 72 black-eyed virgins in their Paradise if they die for their beliefs.

Methinks they're going to be disappointed:

Peace!

Andy turns out to be a no-show!

So the rally in DC didn't happen! You know the one; Anjem Choudary and his Islamic thugs were planning to hold their "Sharia 4 America" rally in Washington DC on March 3rd.

For those of you who don't know who Andy Choudary is (BTW, if you ever run into this clown, go ahead and call him "Andy"; it really ticks him off!), he's this radical Islamic cleric from London who's hell-bent on having Islam and every aspect of it (including its theocratic sharia law) dominate the entire globe. Here he is and some of his goons at a rally outside the American embassy in London:

And this is one of his calmer moments! You should see this guy whip up a crowd of like-minded morons into a frenzy, like a kid taking a big stick and repeatedly whacking a hornet's nest. Maybe I'll find and post a video of such in a future post.

And, up until he "postponed", he wanted to bring his message of hate and domination to our nation's capital.

So why the no-show? Perhaps he wasn't allowed into the US! Or maybe he realized that Americans like myself who have no taste for kool-aid wouldn't stand for this for one minute! Sorry, but I like living in a free and democratic society where I am able to speak my mind even if other people disagree with what I have to say! Sharia brings nothing but oppression and an unquestioning obedience to those who enforce it! Don't think it's all that bad? Let me give you a few examples of what goes on in lands that enforce sharia:

Legalized honor killings, girls as young as SIX forced into marriage with men at least three times their age, public beheadings, homosexuals caught in the act tortured or even hanged, women who are merely accused of promiscuity can be stoned to death, and the list goes on!

And ol' Andy wants to bring that to our land! No, thanks, pal; you keep your sharia, I'll keep my freedom and my life! And trust me, I'm not alone; have a look at the video below:

The counter-protest happened even if Andy or any of his goons didn't show up! Maybe he got wind of this and chickened out! Deep down, loudmouth bullies like Andy are really base cowards once you take the wind out of their sails!

Till next time, peace!

So what's behind the name?

No, not my Christian name, but rather the name you see in my profile and at the bottom of each post I make.

Yes, Wrial Huden!

Sounds like a character from Star Wars, you say?

You're closer than you think! No, you won't find anybody by that name in any of the Star Wars films, and no, not even the Clone Wars animated series. Nope, not any of the books, either.

But Wrial could possibly be a Jedi or perhaps a smuggler working for Jabba the Hutt.

OK, OK, I'll quit rambling and reveal to you how you can get your own Star Wars name!

First, you take the first three letters of your last name (married ladies, you have the option of using either your maiden or married name, whatever pleases you).

Then, you take the first two letters of your first name.

Combine those letters together and you'll have the first name in your Star Wars moniker.

Next, you take the first two letters of your mother's maiden name.

Then, you take the first three letters of the town or city you were born in.

Now combine those letters and you'll have your surname.

Go on, give it a try!!!

Then go ahead and post your results in the comments. I'd really like to see what you come up with!

That'll do it for this posting! Peace!

Japan WILL bounce back!

I've admired Japan for quite some time. I've never been to the Land of the Rising Sun (though taking a trip there is most definitely on my bucket list), but I've seen much of its beauty and culture through video, books, and pictures. I've even taken a course in Japanese through the Houston chapter of the Japan-America Society about 9 years ago, if nothing else, to better understand some of the Japanese-language cinema and anime I like to watch so I won't have to rely solely on the English subtitles at the bottom of the screen.

I also realize that Japan is a land prone to natural disasters. It's an easy target for typhoons and the rare tornado (yes, tornadoes are phenomenon not exclusive to the United States). But Japan sits on the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, and while Fujiyama hasn't erupted in over 300 years, the island nation experiences something that is unfortunately all too commonplace; earthquakes!

Eight point nine!!! That's what the Richter scale initially measured on the quake that hit Japan over 48 hours ago. This dwarfs the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 measured at 7.9. That particular earthquake pretty much leveled Tokyo; the buildings of that era lacked the design and engineering to withstand powerful earthquakes, so most easily crumbled. This most recent quake, with its epicenter just offshore, triggered an exceptionally powerful tsunami with enormous waves crashing into the nearby Japanese shoreline within minutes. Some buildings could have withstood the quake itself, but sadly, they were no match for water coming onshore at 50 mph and over 20 ft. high. And now there's the possibility of the northeast part of Japan becoming another Chernobyl as the struggle continues to prevent nuclear meltdown.

All we can do now is hope and pray that a bad situation doesn't become worse. But in spite of all that's happen thus far, I believe the Japanese people and the nation at large are resilient enough to bounce back!
